Savoy has released new Mokume-gane designs.
The new designs feature the popular Shibuichi* alloy inlayed in a silver base. Contact our office for more information. *Shibuichi, a Japanese term for one fourth, an alloy of 75% copper and 25% silver. Shibuichi turns gray when patinated, which is different to deliberate blackening. Shibuichi is affected by chemicals and can be turned grey, olive green and sky blue with chemical treatment. These colours can also occur due to the wearers chemical balance. Savoy use a 15% Shibuichi alloy. |
